Yogurt Snack Hacks
top of page

Snacks, snacks, snacks.

My friends are constantly asking me what I eat to lose weight. Specifically snacks. They question if I snack. Yes, I still snack. I have a sweet tooth. As much as I want to indulge in apple pie and cheesecake, I have to find balance.

So how do I find balance? Greek yogurt. Before you say eww, hear me out. Last year I found caramel apple pie yogurt and it changed my mind about greek yogurt. I've been recreating my favorite treats ever since. I call them skinny snack hacks.

This specific brand of greek yogurt is what I use for these skinny snacks. They have 12 grams of protein and they are low in carbs and calories. It may not sound like much protein but I rely on the 12 grams to help meet my overall protein target.

Lets get to it:

Caramel Apple Pie

Top caramel apple yogurt with a pinch of cinnamon toast crunch cereal or granola. Sometimes I use Apple Jacks. Try all 3 variations. My go to is the cinnamon toast crunch combo. FYI this specific yogurt has tiny apple pieces already in it.

Strawberry Cheesecake

Top strawberry cheesecake yogurt with strawberry slices (about 2 strawberries) and a pinch of granola. You can also use 2 crumbled pieces of graham crackers. My kids ate the graham crackers before I could use them. #momlife

Banana Pudding

Top banana cream yogurt with 2-4 slices of banana and 1-2 crumbled vanilla wafer cookies. Freeze the rest of the banana for smoothies.

Yogurt is versatile and the variety of flavors are fun to work with. The trick is to find balance and moderation. Don't overdue the cereal or cookies. Give them a try and let me know what you think.

Enjoy!
