Deli Style Bagels at Home

Here's a quick and easy bagel recipe perfect for weekend brunch or any other day of the week. It's fresh, light and bursting with flavor. I wish I would have taken the time to take a better picture but, it was just too good to wait.

INGREDIENTS

HOW TO MAKE SMOKED SALMON BAGEL

  1. Toast bagel in a toaster oven until warm and lightly toasted.

  2. Spread a layer of cream cheese spread on the bagel.

  3. Add cherry tomatoes, followed by sliced onions and some capers.

  4. Top with some slices of smoked salmon.

  5. Add a quality olive oil and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.

Notes:

There are no exact measurements when dressing up a bagel. Use as much or as little of each ingredient. I add the tomatoes first and fill in the empty spaces with the other ingredients. There is no real rhyme or reason, it's sort of like decorating, just fill in the space and do what you like.

Cream Cheese: I prefer cream cheese spreads, especially the Tillamook brand. It simply spreads easier than any other brand I've tried.

Smoked Salmon: I purchase the prepackaged smoked salmon .25lb packages at the grocery store. These can be found at Whole Foods, Trader Joes and most major grocers. I often purchase the Echo Falls Applewood Smoked Salmon from Albertsons.

Hope you try this one and enjoy!
