High-Protein Banana Pudding Recipe (With Greek Yogurt!)

Way back in 2020, I shared some of my go-to "yogurt snack hacks." One of those was a banana cream yogurt topped with vanilla wafers and banana. Fast forward a few years and the internet has finally caught on, thanks to Oikos and their triple zero banana creme yogurt with 15 grams of protein!

It’s been so much fun watching this banana pudding trend take off, but I really wanted to perfect the texture. I’ve been playing around with a version that’s a bit thicker and creamier—less like yogurt and more like actual banana pudding. Here’s how I’ve been making this high-protein banana pudding lately.

INGREDIENTS: (for 2 servings)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Pour both yogurt cups into a medium bowl and mix until creamy. If desired, add about a teaspoon of sugar-free banana pudding mix for extra flavor (though I prefer it without).

  2. Add 2 tbsp of Cool Whip to the yogurt and fold it in until well combined. This step is essential for achieving that classic, airy banana pudding texture.

  3. Grab two small containers or pudding ramekins with lids.

  4. In each container, layer 5 vanilla wafers followed by 5 slices of banana. Remember this is a low-calorie alternative, so keep the layers light. I use one snack pack of wafers and only half of a banana for two servings.

  5. Split the yogurt mixture between each ramekin and smooth the top with the back of the spoon.

  6. Layer about a tablespoon to a tablespoon and a half of Cool Whip on top of the yogurt. You can add more if you like, but keep the low-calorie concept in mind.

  7. Take the remaining wafers and crumble them over the top as a garnish. You can also add some slices of banana (as pictured).

  8. Cover and let it set in the fridge for at least 30 to 60 minutes. The longer it sets, the cakier the wafers become. I like to make two servings so I can enjoy one the next day.
