Honey and sriracha are staples around here. Combine the two and you have an easy marinade ready in seconds.

This recipe is quick and made with basic ingredients. All you need is salt, pepper, cooking spray, honey, sriracha, extra virgin olive oil, and an air fryer.

Since this recipe is honey based, I strongly encourage an air fryer. I find that it cooks the salmon perfectly with no (honey) burning. If you do not have an air fryer, preheat oven to 400 degrees and cook for 15 to 16 minutes.

Honey Sriracha Salmon

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 to 1.5 lbs salmon

  • 2 tbsp sriracha

  • 3 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • salt & pepper to taste

  • cooking spray

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a small bowl, combine honey and sriracha. Mix well.

  • Brush salmon with olive oil.

  • Season both sides of salmon with salt and pepper.

  • Spread or pour the honey mixture over the salmon. Coat well and let it marinate at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes.

  • Spray the air fryer tray with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Place the salmon in the air fryer tray and cook at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on size of salmon and personal caramelization preferences.

  • Serve over white rice with vegetables of choice.

I like to serve over rice, paired with fresh cucumber, shredded carrot, sliced green onions, avocado and extra sriracha. Spicy mayo pairs well too, if you prefer.

If you're a spicier individual, add red pepper flakes to the marinade for an extra kick.

I cooked this salmon for 10 minutes to show the difference in caramelization. I usually inspect at 8 minutes and cook for an additional 2 minutes until desired doneness.

Enjoy!
